Overview

NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) - NDT/NDE Specialist in Nashville, Tennessee. This role ensures the structural integrity of steel by performing and leading non-destructive testing operations in the field and lab. You will manage assignments, inspect steel structures, and guide technicians in delivering top-tier inspection services with precision and safety.

What You'll Do

  • Perform inspections and execute advanced non-destructive testing techniques, including ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT).
  • Oversee and guide testing assignments across multiple projects to ensure consistency and success.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment while participating in quality system audits.
  • Generate comprehensive reports to communicate test findings effectively.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including climbing steel structures up to 200+ feet with fall protection and safety gear.

What We're Looking For

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 3 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience OR an associate degree in a related field
  • A current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
  • A Level II UT certification
  • An ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method
  • Additional certifications are a plus:
  • ICC Building/Structural Steel Inspection
  • Level II PT or MT certifications
  • Experience with Safety, DDC, NDT, or Radiation Training

What to Expect

With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • Climbing structures over 200 feet using proper fall protection
  • Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
  • Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
  • Travel out-of-town (typically overnight) as project needs require
  • Working off-shift or on weekends during peak workload periods
