What You Will Do
The Senior Patriot Launcher Welding Technician will perform duties and responsibilities on the Hawk Patriot Sustainment Contract (HPSC) program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). These individuals are responsible for the implementation of welding works, whether using tin, electricity, or oxyacetylene. The welders will be cutting and welding all types of rods and pipes made of steel, iron, copper, aluminum, or stainless steel, as well as removing and installing radiator parts. The welders will be required to repair delaminated sandwich panels, repair honeycomb structures, perform fiberglass repair, mix, and apply body fillers, prepare metal surfaces for bonding, and weld cracks in broken parts in support of the Royal Saudi Arabia Defense Forces (RSADF) fire units Patriot launchers and other supporting equipment. The welders shall be responsible for safely, productively, and skillfully using various welding tools and equipment. Responsible for permanently joining metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond using TIG/MIG welding techniques. The individuals' completed work will conform to military specifications, standards, and drawings. The position also requires the individual to assist the section officer in enforcing safety policies, procedures, and standards. These individuals will perform other related duties as required or directed by the section officer and supervisor. This position is Long Term International Assignment (STIA). Due to country and customer requirements, as a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate(s) will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof prior to the start date.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Full knowledge of radiator discharging and cleaning works, and metal cutting.
- Knowledgeable in using acid solution in cleaning works.
- Familiarity with the method of checking the radiator and the ability to determine the malfunction.
- Adherence to occupational safety procedures inside the workshops.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience performing welding in the defense and aerospace industry is required.
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (grinders, saws, squares, calipers, tape measure, etc.)
- Must be familiar with general delamination.
- Demonstrated ability in corrosion treatment and repair of metal and fiberglass surfaces.
- Must be familiar with flame spray operations.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English; individual is required to communicate both orally and written to enable the satisfactory performance of the job duties.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment such as Welding Power Sources, welding related tools, and Gas Apparatus
- Experience with Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW / TIG / Heliarc) process.
- Experience with Gas-Metal Arc Welding (GMAW / MIG / MAG) process.
- Demonstrate the ability to pass a physical hands-on welding test for qualification purposes to the American Welding Society (AWS) Specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
- A detailed knowledge of welding standards and specifications for military applications.
- Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) process.
- Experience with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW / Stick) process.
- Experience with using Oxy-Fuel for cutting steel.
- Experience working on the Patriot Launcher and Radar system.
- Ability to visually weld inspect assemblies and identify defects to AWS specifications. Standard visual inspection is typically performed by an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (AWS QC1 CWI) or proven equivalent.
- 10 years of experience with the above qualifications.
- Experience working in international assignments.
- Required Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Applied Science, or completion of two (2) years of vocational training in mechanical or machine shop practices and 4 years of experience. Or a High School Degree/GED with equivalent job-related experience based on four (4) additional years of experience for each one (1) year of higher education. Technical college or industrial secondary school with completion of approved vocational training and possess a current welding certification.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate\'s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
