Overview

Senior Patriot Launcher Welding Technician- KSA at Raytheon. Long Term International Assignment (STIA). Duties center on welding for the Hawk Patriot Sustainment Contract (HPSC) program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance are required.

What You Will Do

Perform welding duties to support Patriot launcher and related systems, including cutting and welding rods and pipes of steel, iron, copper, aluminum, or stainless steel. Repair delaminated sandwich panels, honeycomb structures, fiberglass repairs, and body fillers; prepare metal surfaces for bonding and weld cracks in parts. Safely and skillfully operate welding tools and equipment, using TIG/MIG welding techniques to permanently join metal parts. Ensure work conforms to military specifications, standards, and drawings. Assist the section officer in enforcing safety policies and perform related duties as directed. This is a long-term international assignment; relocation and country-specific requirements apply. A COVID-19 vaccination and proof of vaccination may be required prior to start date.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Full knowledge of radiator discharging and cleaning works, and metal cutting.
  • Knowledge of using acid solution in cleaning works.
  • Ability to check radiators and determine malfunctions.
  • Adherence to occupational safety procedures in the workshop.
  • Minimum 8 years of welding experience in defense and aerospace.
  • Experience with electrical or manual tools (grinders, saws, squares, calipers, tape measures, etc.).
  • Familiarity with delamination and corrosion treatment; repair of metal and fiberglass surfaces.
  • Familiarity with flame spray operations.
  • English communication skills (read, write, and speak).
  • Experience with various welding equipment and processes: GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, FCAW, SMAW/Stick, oxy-fuel cutting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and welding standards for military applications.
  • Willingness and ability to pass a welding qualification test to AWS specifications; standard visual inspection capabilities (CWI or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience working on international assignments.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Applied Science, or completion of two years of vocational/mechanical training plus four years of experience.
  • Or High School/GED with equivalent job-related experience (four additional years of experience per one year of higher education).
  • Technical college or industrial secondary school with approved vocational training and current welding certification.

Additional Information
