Overview

Responsible for daily customer service. Serves as the on-site event manager for weekday local rentals and weekend facility tournaments, leagues, and programs at a 15-field multi-sport, tournament-driven, economic impact facility.

Salary will be determined based on the qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements outlined within the job description. Additional compensation may be provided based on licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison to rectangular sport (soccer/football/lacrosse/rugby) tournament directors and site directors before and during events. Ensures an excellent participant experience for players and staff. Coordinates the functions of staff, maintenance, contractors, and volunteers.
  • Assists Park Supervisor in the development, organization, and oversight of rectangular-related programs, tournaments and events, as well as promotional and marketing materials for programs and events as identified by supervisors.
  • Opens, closes, monitors, and secures parks and recreational facilities.
  • Readies and maintains facilities for use during operational hours.
  • Provides assistance to the public regarding park information, rules, policies, procedures, and activities and enforces rules during events.
  • Ensures park facilities and buildings are clean and ready for scheduled programs and activities which may include recreation classes, sports leagues, tournaments, community meetings, and special programs/events.
  • Provides information and data to supervisor and operational maintenance staff regarding park usage, issues, incidents, programs, and safety concerns relevant to park operations.
  • Supervises assigned programs and events.
  • May assist the maintenance team with trash pick-up/emptying trash cans.

Additional Duties

  • In-depth knowledge of tournament scheduling and play, with an emphasis on rectangular sports.
  • Knowledge of operational requirements for a tournament sports facility.
  • Coordinate multiple user schedules with operational and mowing schedules.
  • Directly participates in varied program set up and arrangements, including field fencing, changing field dimensions, coordinating reworking of fields between diamond and rectangular sports, setting goals, and general set up.
  • Use computerized reservation system, produce reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Register participants, provide information, collect payments, run reports, maintain user records, and verify quality of data input.
  • In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and one (1) year relevant experience in a customer service or park and recreation setting. Bachelor’s Degree is desired.
  • A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as requested.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to bend, lift, stoop, carry, push/pull, walk, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively assist the Operations and Maintenance staff with temporary fence set-up, meeting room set-up, moving tables, chairs, parking cones, bases, mounds, L-Screens, box screens, etc.
  • Ability to drive Seminole County vehicles to retrieve fuel and the ability to lift 5-gallon cans to refuel golf carts and other Seminole County equipment.
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills along with demonstrated competence in computer usage.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings. DepartmentSpecific training per position may be required.
