Overview
The Coordinator of Intramurals is responsible for developing, managing, and promoting all aspects of the college's intramural and club sports programs. This includes overseeing league and tournament organization, participant registration, roster management, scheduling, and training and supervising officials. The role also involves maintaining and inventorying equipment, ensuring safety and functionality, and preparing travel documents for school-sponsored trips. The Coordinator works with students to develop leadership opportunities within club sports, creates engaging outdoor activity trips, and fosters an inclusive environment that encourages participation among students, staff, and faculty. This position contributes to campus wellness and community through recreational programming.
Minimum Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in a related field or equivalent related experience.
- One year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Sports officiating experience.
- Masters degree in Recreation Administration, Sports Management, or related field.
- More than three years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of college policies and procedures; fitness principles and practices; and sport rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of University System of Georgia policies and procedures; supervisory principles and practices.
- Skills in program planning, decision making, problem solving, reporting, and oral/written communication.
Responsibilities
- Intramural Program - Develop, organize, and manage all intramural leagues, tournaments, and events; ensure safety and equipment integrity; manage data in intramural software; recruit, hire, and train officials; create schedules; promote programs and foster inclusivity.
- Club Sport Program - Assist students with forming and managing clubs; process travel paperwork; develop leadership training for club officers; maintain club sport manual; liaison with campus administration; monitor engagement and provide feedback.
- General - Maintain budgets; plan, organize, and market activities; track program statistics; organize outdoor trips; enforce policies; provide customer service.
Additional Details
- Minimum hourly rate: $19.33/hour
