Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School is looking for coaches for multiple sports throughout the school year from August through May. Please specify in your cover letter which sport and season you are interested in or indicate your experience on your resume.
Position Description
The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the teams’ practice and play in games. Most of the participants will have previous experience playing the sport, but others will be playing on their first organized sports team. Each team participates in a league and has a set practice schedule. Practice varies depending on the season and grade as well as dates and times of home and away games.
Seasons
- Fall Season – Aug thru Oct
- Winter 1 – Nov thru Dec
- Winter 2 – Jan thru March
- Spring Season – March thru May
- Summer Season - June thru Aug
- Boys Flag Football for 5th/6th Grade and 7th/8th Graders
- Girls Volleyball for 5th Graders, 6th Graders, 7th Graders, 8th Graders
- Girls Soccer for 5th/6th Grade and 7th/8th Graders
- Boys Soccer for 5th/6th Grade and 7th/8th Graders
- Boys Basketball for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders
- Girls Basketball for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders
- Boys Volleyball for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders
- Girls Flag Football for 5th/6th Grade and 7th/8th Graders

Responsibilities and Duties
- To coach rules, fundamentals and tactics through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for each member of the team.
- To prepare the team to participate in games and coach them during the games.
- To effectively communicate to players, parents, and Athletic Director
- To provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, giving each child an equal opportunity to participate based on league rules.
- To communicate effectively with the Athletic Director on all matters of policy.
- To serve as a positive role model to players, parents, officials, and fellow coaches by following all rules, demonstrating good sportsmanship/sportswomanship.
- To communicate good health and fitness principles and positive character development concepts to players, parents, and spectators.
- To be responsible for equipment needed during the season
- To collaborate with other Saint Andrew’s coaches about skill development and best practices
- To represent Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School in a positive manner.
- Coach is expected to be on campus twice weekly for scheduled practices and games and remain with the team until the last child is picked up at all away games.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Must have previous experience coaching in the sport or played at a higher level (high school, college, professional level)

Physical Requirements
- Ability to visually monitor the room/outdoor space and students
- Prolong standing up to and above 80% of time. Includes sitting, squatting, reaching, and kneeling.
- Climb stairs and navigate sloping terrain
- Ability to move equipment/boxes and ability to lift up to 25lbs.
Work Environment
- Navigate 10 acres of land with multi surfaces, multi-level with transitions
- Surfaces including wood, linoleum, grass, concrete, dirt, gravel
- Sustain loud noises continuously depending on activities
- Sustain indoor artificial lighting for indoor practice/games, backlit monitors
- Able to handle outdoor weather including bright sun to rain, and temperature from cold to hot
Reports To: Director of Athletics
Job Type: On-Site and Off-Site (away games), Non-Exempt, Hourly, Seasonal position
Compensation: $25 - $32 per hour
