Job Summary

The Coordinator of Intramurals is responsible for developing, managing, and promoting all aspects of the college's intramural and club sports programs. This includes overseeing league and tournament organization, participant registration, roster management, scheduling, and training and supervising officials. The role involves maintaining and inventorying all equipment, ensuring safety and functionality, and preparing all necessary travel documents for school-sponsored trips. Additionally, the Coordinator works closely with students to develop leadership opportunities within club sports, creates engaging outdoor activity trips, and fosters an inclusive environment that encourages participation among students, staff, and faculty. This position plays a vital role in enhancing campus wellness and community through recreational programming.

Responsibilities

Intramural Program - 45
-Develops, organizes, and manages all aspects of intramural leagues, tournaments, and special events, ensuring a wide variety of offerings to meet diverse interests.
-Conducts regular inspections of all intramural equipment to ensure safety and functionality, maintaining detailed inventory records and facilitating timely replacements or repairs.
-Oversees participation data collection and ensures accurate input into intramural software for reporting, analysis, and program improvement.
-Recruits, hires, and trains intramural officials, providing ongoing education on officiating techniques, conflict resolution, and program policies to maintain high standards of fairness and professionalism.
-Creates detailed schedules for intramural games and events, ensuring efficient use of facilities and staff resources.
-Develops new intramural sports when needed.
-Actively promotes the intramural and club sport program through various channels, including social media, campus events, and outreach to students, staff, and faculty, fostering an inclusive and engaging community.

Club Sport Program - 45
-Assists students in establishing and managing club sports, offering guidance on forming teams, setting goals, and adhering to institutional policies.
-Collaborates with club representatives to organize and process paperwork for club sport travel, ensuring compliance with institutional travel policies and safety protocols.
-Develops and implements leadership training programs for club officers, enhancing their skills in communication, teamwork, and organizational management.
-Creates, updates, and disseminates the club sport manual, providing clear guidelines and resources to support successful club operations.
-Serves as a liaison between club sport leaders and campus administration, ensuring that student needs are met and institutional policies are followed.
-Monitors club sport performance and engagement, providing regular feedback and identifying areas for growth or improvement.

Performs a variety of related duties - 10
-Maintains budgets for intramurals and all club sports.
-Plans, organizes, and markets recreational intramural and club sports activities.
-Tracks and records statistical data or programs each month.
-Organizes two outdoor activity trips per semester.
-Enforces and maintains departmental policies and procedures.
-Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Fitness.
-Provides customer service by addressing participant inquiries, resolving disputes, and ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all involved in intramural and club sports programs.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required or equivalent related experience.

Required Experience
One year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Sports officiating experience.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Masters degree in Recreation Administration, Sports Management, or related field.

Preferred Experience
More than three years of related experience.
