Responsibilities
- Handle all public relations efforts for designated sports, including managing social media channels, content creation, and implementing a social media strategy based on analytics and input from the team.
- Maintain the designated sports website content, including rosters, bios, schedules, and writing press releases, game recaps, and feature stories.
- Schedule and conduct weekly meetings with necessary staff across departments to ensure strategic communication needs are met for designated sports.
- Create cross-platform content in collaboration with creative staff.
- Maintain accurate statistics and records for designated sports; cover home and away events as needed.
- Collaborate with offices across the athletics department (creative, marketing, game operations, academics, etc.).
- Performs other related duties as assigned and be prepared for potential changes in duties as the University reserves the right to modify roles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and one year of work experience (two years preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and sport-specific stats software (e.g., NLS Stats).
- Experience in higher education and/or a sports-related field is ideal; understanding of college athletes’ needs is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to USC’s Unifying Values through ideas, actions, and communication.
Additional Information
This is a non-exempt position requiring office presence with potential for remote work as agreed with the supervisor. Availability for nights and weekends and some travel is anticipated.
Hourly Range: $34.08 - $40.00. USC considers factors such as responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions when extending offers.
