We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a strong commitment to promoting oral health. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing high-quality dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy for patients of all ages
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories
- Utilize Dentrix software for patient documentation and record management
- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits
- Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
- Assist in medical imaging procedures as needed, including X-rays and other diagnostic tools
- Review and document patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities
Qualifications
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices
- Proficiency in EMR systems and documentation review processes
- Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on oral health topics
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Understanding of medical coding and medical terminology is beneficial for accurate record keeping
