Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and health during every visit. This position requires expertise in various dental practices, including pediatric dentistry and general dentistry, while adhering to all safety and health regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages, with a focus on pediatric care.
- Utilize Dentrix software for patient documentation and record management.
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
- Assist in chairside procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow during dental treatments.
- Implement infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques throughout the clinic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Review medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control practices, and four-handed dentistry.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess individual needs effectively.
- Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
- Certification as a Dental Hygienist with valid state licensure is required.
- Previous experience in dental assisting or related fields will be advantageous.
