As a Dental Hygienist, you will

• Deliver high-quality dental hygiene care aligned with professional standards
• Evaluate patients and implement treatment regimens under dentist supervision
• Document findings, treatments, and outcomes in patient records
• Initiate and lead oral health education and prevention programs
• Assist with dental records review, charting, and patient screenings
• Collaborate with dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations
• Participate in quality improvement and program evaluations

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Perform dental assessments, cleanings, polishing, fluoride/varnish applications, and X-rays
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and risk prevention
• Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures as needed
• Document patient history, conditions, and procedures thoroughly and accurately
• Prepare dental impressions and study casts
• Assist with walk-in patients and emergency protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and function of operatories and dental equipment
• Use downtime to restock and prepare exam areas
• Support general front office duties as needed (triage, phones, etc.)

Education & Licensure

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) – State of Ohio
• Current CPR Certification
• Ongoing CEUs to maintain licensure and stay current in dental practices

Experience & Skills

• Experience in charting, treatment planning, and direct patient care
• Familiarity with infection control, OSHA, CDC, and ADA standards
• Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology
• Ability to assess dental conditions independently
• Excellent communication skills for patient and team interactions
• Experience with dental EMR systems preferred
