Overview
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens in Sidney, Montana. Advance your nursing career with a locum tenens assignment providing obstetric and neonatal care in a welcoming Montana community.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care to laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns
- Conduct triage assessments and perform non-stress tests (NSTs)
- Assist as second nurse at deliveries and manage overflow patients in the unit
- Collaborate with physicians, pediatricians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support patients experiencing complications during pregnancy, childbirth, or postpartum recovery
- Educate and guide patients and families throughout the childbirth and postpartum process
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered RN license (Montana or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Labor-trained Registered Nurse
- Required certifications: NRP, STABLE, and Intermediate or higher Fetal Monitoring
- Strong clinical skills in triage, postpartum, and newborn care
- Experience in obstetrics and nursery care preferred

- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (October 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025)
- Shifts: Day shift (06:45–19:00) & Night shift (18:45–07:00); rotating schedule
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Units Covered: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, Obstetrics
- Open Positions: 3 available
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200–$2,360 per week
