Job Description: Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Neuro RN for a 13 week travel assignment in Sioux City, IA. Required Qualifications
- One year’s recent experience as a Neuro RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
- CPI Certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary
The Registered Nurse specializing in Neurology delivers comprehensive high-quality, patient-centered care on Neurology units. This role involves assessing patient health conditions, monitoring telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs. The position requires strong clinical skills in med-surg and telemetry nursing, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics.
Essential Work Functions
- Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and document findings using evidence-based tools
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered care plans
- Provide and coordinate patient care with other health team members
- Monitor patients' responses to interventions and adjust care plans as needed
- Administer medications as ordered with appropriate documentation and educate patients about use and adherence
- Support patients during medical procedures relevant to mental health care and monitor responses
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Advocate for patients' needs and rights, ensuring culturally sensitive and ethical care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance psychiatric nursing practice
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and resources
- Complete accurate, timely documentation to support legal, clinical, and operational requirements
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficient PC skills
- Physical abilities: stationary work, equipment movement (50-100 lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personnel
- Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment
- Mental requirements: ability to handle pressure, irregular schedules, and attention to detail
- Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
