Responsibilities / Summary

The Registered Nurse specializing in Neurology delivers comprehensive high-quality, patient-centered care on Neurology units. This role involves assessing patient health conditions, monitoring telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs. The position requires strong clinical skills in med-surg and telemetry nursing, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics.

Required Qualifications

• One year\'s recent experience as a Neuro RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
• CPI Certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Essential Work Functions

• Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and document findings using evidence-based tools
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered care plans
• Provide and coordinate patient care with other health team members
• Monitor patients\' responses to interventions and adjust care plans as needed
• Administer medications as ordered with appropriate documentation and educate patients about their use
• Support patients during procedures relevant to mental health care and monitor responses
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
• Advocate for patients\' needs and rights, ensuring culturally sensitive and ethical care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and resources

• English language proficiency in reading, writing and communication
• Ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions and PC skills
• Physical abilities to move and assist with equipment
• Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel
• Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment
• Mental requirements to cope with deadlines, irregular schedules, and concentration requirements
• Sensory capabilities including visual acuity
