Job Title: Phlebotomist

• Obtain proper blood specimens from patients in the hospital.
• Prepare all specimens for reference laboratories.
• Collect appropriate control specimens as requested.
• Assist technologists and other personnel as time and training permit.
• Perform related clerical, billing, and charting responsibilities.
• Identify age-specific phlebotomy needs of patients and implement appropriate procedures and processes.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Previous exposure to Emergency Room and trauma situations.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Understanding of medical ethics and handling of confidential information.
• Formal or on-the-job blood collection techniques.
