Job Description: ITW Medical is comprised of three medical product brands—Coeur, Filtertek & Precise Biomedical—suppling medical devices, components, and service to global medical device brands. Filtertek manufactures molded filtration and flow control components. Precise provides technical service, maintenance & training for contrast media injectors. Coeur is a leading provider of disposable diagnostic imaging consumables.

Shift and Compensation: This is a night shift position (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) on a permanent rotating schedule: 3 nights on the first week, 4 nights on the following week. It is a "floater" position capable of assembly line work, plastic injection molding machine operation, and forklift operation, assigned as needed each night. Forklift experience is necessary. The role pays $16/hr + $2/hr night shift premium, for a total of $18/hr.

General Accountability/Support

  • To serve as a member of the ITW Medical team responsible for the quality and production of the machines for distribution to our customers.
  • To ensure that every machine is operating according to all Manufacturing Instructions and Operating Procedures.
  • To practice and encourage courtesy and helpfulness among all team members.
  • To become fully trained in all areas of machine operation as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Follow all ITW Medical rules and regulations.
  • Perform end of the day clean up duties as required, and any other required housekeeping.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial inspection of manufactured parts for defects; escalate issues as required.
  • Record all activities of assigned shift by completing proper forms; i.e. job activity sheets, break sheets, etc.
  • Communicate with the shift lead and QC inspectors.
  • Replenish raw materials.
  • Report machine issues to technicians.
  • Minor troubleshooting.
  • Some knowledge or experience in injection molding, assembly and/or hybrid machine operation processes.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Educational Level: 1-3 years experience.
  • Comprehension/Reasoning Skills: This position requires the ability to read and comprehend Operating Instructions and Manufacturing Specifications for the work performed.
  • Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute ratios and percentages.
  • Other Skills and Abilities:
    • Three years’ experience operating and maintaining automation equipment.
    • Experience with vision inspection equipment preferred.
    • Experience with 6-axis robots preferred.
    • Experience with pneumatic systems preferred.
    • This position requires corrected eyesight of 20/20 for the visual quality inspections that are performed on parts.
    • Basic Computer Skills – Data Entry, Common Searches, Proficient use of Microsoft Suite, and other custom software packages specific to the business.

Competencies/Physical Demands

  • Some physical movement around the machine areas; an operator stands for 90% of the work shift.
  • Stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • Frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

The work conditions are in a climate controlled medical device assembly room.
