Overview

Production Supervisor - Night Shift at Fabcon. This position is responsible for improving the Company’s profitability by implementing Lean principles and practices to improve Safety/5S, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC). The Production Supervisor provides direction to support groups within their area of responsibility to ensure proper fulfillment of customer orders. Night shift.

Responsibilities

  • Manages customer orders to ensure proper fulfillment
  • Ensures that all required resources are present to produce the required output
  • Communicates progress toward order fulfillment
  • Manages for daily improvement
  • Establishes a lean vision for processes, sets SQDC improvement goals, and takes action to achieve these goals
  • Posts and monitors SQDC measurements to provide visual trends of progress and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Eliminates problems by taking immediate stop-gap measures, coordinating with required support groups, recording critical data and driving root-cause elimination
  • Ensures adherence to standard work and implements improvements to standard operations daily
  • Provides strong leadership
  • Conducts daily startup meetings to review SQDC performance, establish goals, review status, present issues, and build a winning team spirit
  • Provides continuous feedback on personal performance and rewards or disciplines accordingly
  • Increases the team’s skill depth through cross-training, development goals, and task rotation
  • Interviews, hires and trains employees

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provides continuous feedback on personal performance and applies rewards or disciplines as appropriate
  • Increases team skill depth through cross-training and development goals
  • Interviews, hires and trains employees

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Two years of demonstrated experience leading a team in a manufacturing or similar environment

Other Required Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills; effective communication in presentations and written forms
  • Flexibility, results orientation, and commitment to business goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four plus years of supervisory experience in a production or similar environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand/walk for long durations in a manufacturing environment with ladders and catwalks
  • Move and handle items up to 50 lbs; spatial awareness and use of hand tools; perform office computer tasks

Work Environment

  • Approximately 50% of time in a loud, dusty manufacturing environment; remainder in an office environment
  • Plant/Yard: various weather conditions; dirt/dust; noise from machinery and vehicles; vibrations; limited climate control; stairs and narrow walkways
  • Office: Quiet with some ambient noise; climate controlled; fluorescent lighting
