Responsibilities

  • Ensure the company’s Safety and OSHA Procedures are followed at all times.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, machinery, and facilities
  • Manage spare parts inventory, vendor contracts, and supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective replacement of worn-out parts and equipment.
  • Keep the Maintenance Manager informed of all matters affecting the day-to-day operational support of the production maintenance process.
  • Work related records will be kept and maintained daily to allow effective monitoring of all Maintenance technicians’ work / workplace activities.
  • Ensure work orders are completed, or plans for completion are in place.
  • Ensure the effective shift changeover information is properly communicated to the appropriate individuals.
  • Effectively coordinate the activities of the Technicians based on the daily production scheduling of the production lines. Redirect additional maintenance support activities based on any changes to production planning and scheduling.
  • Keep accurate records on all overtime worked, vacations taken, sickness leave, unplanned days off and perform disciplinary procedures of all maintenance personnel when required, per the company policies.
  • Minimize equipment downtime and redirect the effective use of maintenance resources. Brief the Maintenance Manager, Director of Operations, or Plant Manager.
  • Schedule, work with and oversee Vendors/Contractors in performance of project work.
  • Act as primary contact for all physical changes to buildings or grounds including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, construction, additions/deletions when on shift.
  • Responsible for ensuring scheduling, reporting, and maintain records for annual Fire/Emergency Evacuations and Severe Weather drills.
  • Responsible or provide sustainability report monthly and/or quarterly to include OEE, Electrical (KW hours), Fuel Usage, Water/Sewer Usage, Waste Generation, Recycle Optimization, and related costs.
  • Responsible for maintaining/upgrading all facility alarm, fire systems, and security program systems.
  • Responsible for management of janitorial services and supplies for all Indiana facilities
  • Develop & coach team building and ownership responsibilities within the Maintenance Dept.
  • Develop the skills of each direct report and facilitate training, as needed.
  • Read and interpret maintenance and machine situations on the production lines into clear and accurate information for use by management.
  • Evaluate the performance of the technicians, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Be available for maintenance emergencies at the plant.
  • All other jobs as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Required

High School or better.

Experience

Required

• Must have knowledge of P.M. Maintenance System and system reports. Must have a working knowledge of a work order, purchasing, and P.M. Planning operation.• A working knowledge of the requirements of OSHA with respect to machine guarding and interlocking

• General knowledge in Safety and safe industrial practices.• Knowledge and experience with Lockout/Tagout.

• At least five years in a maintenance production line role involving automatic production equipment in a continuous process environment.• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and coach team members to achieve performance goals• Strong organization and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities• Previous supervision/leadership experienced preferred.
