Position Summary – Detox Technician

The housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a safe environment within a medically-managed withdrawal facility. They are responsible for performing various cleaning tasks to ensure that patient rooms, common areas, and facilities are neat, sanitary, and comfortable. The housekeeper works closely with other staff to uphold high standards of infection control and overall patient comfort.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, including beds, furniture, fixtures.
  • Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Empty and clean waste containers, including hazardous waste, following proper disposal procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness in public areas, such as dining room, hallways, living rooms, restrooms.
  • Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels in designated areas.
  • Follow established protocols for infection control and adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners, safely and efficiently.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Respond to and fulfill additional cleaning requests from medical and support staff as needed.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with patients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures regarding confidentiality and patient privacy.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and organizational policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the recovery community.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial work, preferably in a healthcare setting, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and proper chemical handling is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move heavy objects when necessary.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Familiarity with infection control practices and safety regulations in healthcare environments.
  • CPR certification.

Schedule

7 am - 5 pm, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Compensation

  • $21/ hr base pay
  • Plus shift differential for weekends

Position is contingent on passing an OHA Background check and successful completion of a urine analysis (UA) after accepting job offer
