Duties and Expectations

  • Guest Relations: Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Name Use: Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
  • Guest Satisfaction: All Team Members work together to contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
  • Recovery: Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency.
  • Hotel Knowledge: Know all features of the hotel and amenities.
  • Events: Support all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Technology: Understand relevant technology for the role.
  • Phone Etiquette: Answer calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.

  • Pitching In: Everyone may assist in cleaning guest rooms and public spaces as needed.
  • Hospitality While Cleaning: Greet guests cheerfully while cleaning.
  • Product Consistency & Quality: Complete checklists accurately and on time; ensure quality in all tasks.
  • Shift Handover Reports: Provide accurate reports for effective communication.

SECTION TWO: Housekeeping Supervisor, Role Specific Duties and Expectations

The Housekeeping Supervisor manages cleaning operations, including rooms, public areas, and laundry. They assume the duties of the Executive Housekeeper when absent, including supervising staff and cleaning guest rooms and spaces.

Other Duties And Expectations

  • Manage Guest Request Log: Review and address requests proactively.
  • VIP Management: Monitor VIP guests and requests.
  • Oversee Housekeeping Team: Conduct daily briefings and ensure checklists are completed.
  • Room Inspection: Ensure quality and cleanliness of rooms and spaces.
  • Storage Rooms: Keep all storage areas organized and clean.
  • Pre-Cleaning Duties: Stock supplies and prepare carts.
  • Trash and Linen: Remove and replace linens and supplies.
  • Deep Cleaning: Conduct as needed with maintenance support.
  • Departmental Meetings: Lead daily meetings in absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Supply Management: Order and maintain stock of supplies.
  • Inventory: Conduct regular inventories.
  • Maintenance Requests: Monitor and follow up on work orders.
  • Room Status: Balance nightly room reports and resolve discrepancies.
  • Lost and Found: Manage procedures and policies.
  • Chemical Safety: Ensure proper use of chemicals per OSHA standards.
  • Key Control: Maintain key control system.

SECTION THREE: Success Metrics

Metrics include guest satisfaction scores, cleanliness inspections, product quality, and teamwork performance.

SECTION FOUR: Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in hospitality or related field preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow guidelines and work under pressure.
  • Effective listening and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Desire to serve guests.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays.
  • Punctuality and proper break management.
  • Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for long periods.
