Duties and Expectations

1. Happy Guests

  • Guest Relations: Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Name Use: Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
  • Guest Satisfaction: All Team Members work together to contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
  • Recovery: Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Hotel Knowledge: Maintain strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
  • Events: Be aware of and support all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Technology: Understand relevant technology for your role.
  • Phone Etiquette: Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.

2. Spotless Cleanliness

  • Sparkling Clean Workspaces: Keep all areas, front and back of the house, clean and well-organized.
  • Pitching In: Contribute to cleanliness by helping clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed.
  • Hospitality While Cleaning: Greet every guest happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.

3. Product Consistency & Quality

  • Checklists to 100% Accuracy: Complete all operational checklists accurately and on time each shift.
  • Shift Handover Reports: Ensure handover reports are accurate and timely for effective communication between shifts.
  • Flawless Uniform: Wear a clean, approved uniform, be well-groomed, wear a nametag, and smile at all times.

4. Teamwork

  • Communication: Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members.
  • Can Do Attitude: Be willing to go beyond traditional roles to meet the needs of guests and the business.
  • Collaboration: Work together to create a welcoming environment and a positive workplace.

SECTION TWO: Housekeeping Supervisor, Role Specific Duties and Expectations

The Housekeeping Supervisor manages cleaning operations, including guest rooms, public areas, and laundry. They assume the duties of the Executive Housekeeper in their absence, including managing staff and inspecting rooms and spaces.

Other Duties and Expectations

  • Manage Guest Request Log: Review daily requests and address issues proactively.
  • VIP Management: Monitor VIP guests and special requests.
  • Oversee Housekeeping Team: Conduct daily stand-ups and ensure checklists are prepared.
  • Room Inspection: Inspect rooms and public spaces for quality and cleanliness.
  • Storage Rooms: Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage and mechanical rooms.
  • Pre-Cleaning Duties: Stock supplies and linen for housekeeping carts.
  • Trash and Linen Removal: Remove trash and linen, replace bed linens, and replenish supplies.
  • Deep Cleaning: Conduct deep cleaning activities as needed.
  • Departmental Meetings: Conduct daily meetings in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Supply Management: Maintain and order supplies as needed.
  • Inventory: Conduct regular inventories.
  • Maintenance Requests: Monitor work orders and follow up on completion.
  • Status Reports: Balance and resolve room status discrepancies nightly.
  • Lost and Found: Maintain procedures for lost and found items.
  • Chemical Safety: Ensure proper use of hazardous chemicals per OSHA standards.
  • Key Control: Maintain a key control system.

SECTION THREE: Success Metrics

Metrics include management ratings, guest satisfaction scores, cleanliness inspections, and teamwork assessments.

SECTION FOUR: Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in hospitality or related field preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow guidelines and procedures.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Effective listening, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Desire to serve guests.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Willing to work varied schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Arrive on time, clock in/out properly, and follow break policies.

Physical Demands & Environment

Must be able to stand for long periods, operate equipment, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and observe details closely.
