What: Tutors needed to work with Club members on reading and literacy (1st-5th grade) and reading/ literacy and math (6th-8th grade)

Where: North Ridge Crossing

Responsibilities

• Provide approximately 6-8 hours per week tutoring small groups or one-on-one with members.
• Plan lessons and activities for tutoring sessions.
• Monitor members\' progress and attend required tutor trainings.

The program design supports strategic intervention of members, grades 1st-5th, in English/Language Arts to concentrate on reading and writing, with math skill-building also offered to middle school members. By tailoring the AIM program to provide hands-on and engaging activities aligning to the conceptual strands of Tennessee’s Academic Standards, BGCTNV will offer opportunities for growth and development in areas that need remediation. The AIM program will support and strengthen BGCTNV’s goal of ensuring that all members are on track for high school graduation with a plan for the future.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a postsecondary institution, unofficial college transcript or high school transcript if a first semester college freshman, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, pass a background check and drug screen, and be available between 3pm-6pm at least 2 days per week.
