Position Overview
The Department of Military Affairs is looking to hire a Storekeeper II located at North Riverside, Illinois. This position, under the direct supervision of the Military Property Supervisor and daily coordination with the Military Property Custodian II, operates the warehouse for the Department of Military Affairs. Essential Functions
- Establishes and maintains stock levels for building supplies for the Southern and Northern Areas.
- Posts and maintains stock records to include receipts, locations, issues, and distributes supplies and office equipment.
- Prepares and maintains receiving reports.
- Operates machinery, organizes and maintains cleanliness for warehouse operations.
- Prepares requisitions and fills supply requests for office supplies.
- Assists with pick-up, deliveries and inventory for property operations.
- Performs additional duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school.
- Requires two years’ experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers knowledge of storeroom and warehouse methods, procedures, inventory record keeping and controls.
- Prefers working knowledge of transportation agencies, shipment methods, purchase and requisition procedures.
- Prefers ability to prepare stock records and reports.
Employment Conditions
- Requires the ability to pass a DoD background investigation and obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) prior to hire or transfer.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
- This position is considered very heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(e)). Very Heavy work involves lifting objects weighing more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Requires being on feet for extended periods of time and ability to climb stairs and ladders.

Work Hours: 8am - 4pm. Can vary based on mission requirements.
