The Field Service Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics directs and leads the field service organization for the South Georgia and Florida territories, covering installations, preventive maintenance, break/fix service, and proactive post-sale service activities. This role manages the Service business P&L with direct revenue over $10M and costs over $5M. The position is part of Field Technical Service in North America and is remote, covering the Chicago, IL area. You will be part of the North America Commercial Organization (NACO) Field Services team and report to the Service Area Director – Central region.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Regularly visit clients and customers to maintain the network and develop new relationships for opportunities, partnering with the sales team
  • Lead a team of Field Service Engineers and a Field Service Supervisor; oversee training and professional development; set goals; lead recruitment
  • Drive P&L and operational performance around safety, compliance, revenue growth, customer satisfaction, first-time fix rate, employee satisfaction, and expense controls
  • Coordinate with the team to facilitate preventive maintenance (PM), modifications (MOD), and daily service-call workload balancing
  • Manage and resolve high-pressure customer issues, including product performance issues and technical escalations
  • Lead projects at the NACO level, applying the Danaher Business System (DBS) to map improvement plans and drive sustainable improvements

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years’ experience OR Master’s Degree with 7+ years’ experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in people management (direct reports)
  • Working knowledge of Field Customer Support, Service Contracting, and related subfields
  • Knowledge of customer relationships and customer satisfaction methodologies
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the region

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous 5+ years’ experience managing people
  • Knowledge of the medical diagnostic industry and its trends, pitfalls and challenges
  • Knowledge of diagnostic analyzers – specifications, performance standards, and U.S. healthcare legislation

Remote/work arrangement and compensation

This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement; additional information will be provided by the interview team. The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $135,000, with eligibility for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees.
