Overview
Medical Assistant - Sleep Specialists - North role at Community Health Network. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider at an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visits and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the practice population. The MA will also participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies
- Room patients and manage an efficient flow of the provider’s caseload
- Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or collect specimens
- Document care using the EPIC EMR system
- Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
- Process referrals and medication refills
- Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
Qualifications
- Graduate/certificate from a recognized medical assisting program OR High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years
- Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills; positive attitude toward problem-solving
