The collection specialist is responsible for providing customer service regarding collection issues, process and review account adjustments, and resolving invoice discrepancies or short payments. They are responsible for reducing the delinquency for assigned accounts and following the established collections process in the account guides. They must communicate effectively with operations regarding customer accounts in a timely manner.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Provide customer service regarding collection issues, process and review account adjustments, resolve invoice discrepancies and short payments.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts- Customer calls, payment status via customer portals, account adjustments, customer reconciliations.
  • Work with program managers and account administrators to process account refunds and credit memos.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department.
  • Enlist the efforts of program managers and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
  • Document and research the root causes for non-payment of customer invoices, and work with administrative management and operations teams to enact processes to remedy identified issues
  • Work with the operations teams and management to ensure that the appropriate purchase orders are obtained timely, documented in our systems, and reflected on customer bills as needed
  • Work with accounting and operations to properly apply payments that were put "on account" for lack of customer-provided remittance information
  • Obtain and maintain system information with respect to customer billing and invoice portal processing contacts

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 4 Year Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Customer Service, Collections, or Business Administration required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Experience balancing and delivering multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
  • Solid knowledge of and ability to navigate independently in our proprietary IS2 order entry / billing system. Previous experience with IS2 is preferred, but not required, as training will be provided.
  • Sound understanding of Envita Solutions business model, the waste management industry, and ability to learn different customer accounts quickly.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to provide solutions with limited direction.
  • Strong attention to detail and superior time management skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
