Key Responsibilities

• Picks up and delivers specimens, reports, supplies, x-rays and mail to physician offices and other entities while maintaining a schedule and documentation.
• Works with the Transportation Coordinator to ensure route schedules are up to date and communicates changes.
• Keeps work areas clean and well stocked.

Occasional but critical responsibilities:

• Follows up all problems or errors by collecting documentation for lab managers.
• Assists in reviewing processes for improvement.
• Participates in training of employees to ensure that all transportation staff receives appropriate training and maintains competency.
• Participates on hospital committees and transportation teams as needed.
• Looks for ways to improve customer service.
• Provides input for revising and presenting new procedures.
• Assists with supply ordering and restocking, as needed.
• Supports team and patient care by being available to cover vacation and sick time for coworkers.

Decision making and budget responsibilities

• Impact limited to the employee.

Job Specifications

Education:

• Must be able to read, write and understand conversational English.

Experience:

• Must have a minimum of two (2) years driving experience.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

• Current Oregon or Washington driver’s license, be at least 21 years old with minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the type of vehicle being driven.

Other:

• Must provide own transportation.
• No more than:
• One (1) accident and two (2) moving violations or
• Two (2) accidents and one (1) moving violation or
• No accidents and three (3) moving violations on or off the job
• No conviction for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), license suspension, auto felony conviction or other serious violations within the past 36 months.
