Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Picks up and delivers specimens, reports, supplies, x-rays and mail to physician offices and other entities while maintaining a schedule and documentation.
- Works with the Transportation Coordinator to ensure route schedules are up to date and communicates changes.
- Keeps work areas clean and well stocked.
Occasional but critical responsibilities:
- Follows up all problems or errors by collecting documentation for lab managers.
- Assists in reviewing processes for improvement.
- Participates in training of employees to ensure that all transportation staff receives appropriate training and maintains competency.
- Participates on hospital committees and transportation teams as needed.
- Looks for ways to improve customer service.
- Provides input for revising and presenting new procedures.
- Assists with supply ordering and restocking, as needed.
- Supports team and patient care by being available to cover vacation and sick time for coworkers.
Decision making and budget responsibilities
- Impact limited to the employee.

Job Specifications
Education:
- Must be able to read, write and understand conversational English.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years driving experience.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
- Current Oregon or Washington driver’s license, be at least 21 years old with minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the type of vehicle being driven.

Other:
- Must provide own transportation.
- No more than:
- One (1) accident and two (2) moving violations or
- Two (2) accidents and one (1) moving violation or
- No accidents and three (3) moving violations on or off the job
- No conviction for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), license suspension, auto felony conviction or other serious violations within the past 36 months.
