Job Title: Technical Support Specialist (Tier 2)
Location: Hillsboro, OR (On-site)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 annually upon conversion
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a Tier 2 Technical Support Specialist to join our client\'s IT team in Hillsboro. This is a hands-on role supporting a Windows-based environment with responsibilities spanning imaging, scripting, troubleshooting, and system maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to keep systems running efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 desktop and technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Manage bare-metal imaging and deployment of Windows systems.
  • Write and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell (Bash is a plus).
  • Support server-related tasks including restoring files, adjusting permissions, and applying patches.
  • Keep systems current with updates, patches, and security configurations.
  • Manage inventory and ensure accurate tracking of IT assets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Help Spot ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including BSA, Data Analysts, and Network Engineer.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of IT support experience with strong Tier 2 technical skills.
  • Proficiency with:
    - Active Directory (user/group management, permissions)
    - PowerShell scripting
    - Experience with bare-metal imaging and system deployment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Excel for advanced formulas, data manipulation, and reporting.
  • Strong technical writing/documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Bash scripting.
  • You\'ll work closely with: 1 BSA, 2 Data Analysts, 1 Network Engineer, 2 Tech Support team members (Tier 3 available for escalation); 320 employees supported across Oregon.
  • Active ERP operations and HR implementations underway (expected to last another 1-2 years).
