Senior CNC Machinist Location: Webster Outlying Field (WOLF); Inigoes, MD Shift: Day Remote Type: No Remote Clearance: Secret Education: High School Diploma Years of Experience: 5+ years Salary: $40 - $50 per/hour (*Additional hourly Health & Welfare fringe benefit in accordance with the Service Contract Act) *Amount may vary based on benefit elections Description At Altus Technology Solutions, we are seeking experienced CNC Machinists to support growing operations at our St. Inigoes, MD facility. Senior or Master-level machinists are preferred, though we are also considering highly skilled mid-level candidates with 35+ years of experience. Successful applicants will join a motivated team of Machinists at Webster Outlying Field (WOLF), leading and performing all facets of machining. This includes programming, setup, and operation of top-tier CNC mills and lathes, with occasional conventional machining work. In this role, you will be a key contributor to precision manufacturing and prototyping efforts in support of defense and engineering projects. Primary Responsibilities * Program and operate 3 and 5-axix CNC mills, CNC lathes, and on occasion, conventional mills, lathes, and miscellaneous machine shop equipment to manufacture unique, on of a kind products and systems to support NAWCAD WOLF projects. * Implement geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices to ensure all production products are manufactured to drawing specifications. * Maintain proficiency in the latest CAD/CAM (ex: GibbsCAM) capabilities through formal and informal company-provided training. Work collaboratively with customers to understand project requirements and schedule, developing machining options, and translating customer requirements into functional hardware that meets all project specifications. * Actively train & mentor Junior Machinists and other shop personnel as needed. * Follow and enforce all safety standards within the Machine Shop. * Perform standard pre-operational checks on assigned machines and notify facility PM technician for any issues with machine performance. * Other tasking, as required to support customer requirements. Qualifications * High school education or equivalent. Formal trade school, college, or military training school highly desired. * Mix of conventional and CNC machining experience, along with knowledge of GibbsCAM or other common CAD/CAM programs required. Experience with 5-axis machines and processing of unique materials a plus. * Full command of various machining processes including milling, turning, grinding, and plating with an in-depth knowledge of materials including, but not limited to, carbon steel, aluminum, tool steel, stainless steel, composites, and fiberglass. * Skilled in mathematics required for machinists, also the ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, dial caliper, and all other measuring devices required by the Machinist Trade. * Forklift experience and/or 3D printing experience a plus. * must be able to be insured through companys vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment. * DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment. * About Altus Since 2004, Altus Technology Solutions has been committed to providing top-quality, performance-driven services to both government and commercial clients.
