DSV - Global transport and logistics is a global leader in transport and logistics with a network of offices in more than 80 countries. This position is based in Streetsboro, OH within the Contract Logistics division. Full-time, on-site role.

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator ensures safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may perform Order Filler and Checker duties as needed. Responsible for accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet safety, security, and productivity standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receiving/Put-Away: Unload inbound shipments safely, move product to storage locations, and input data accurately into WMS. Stack and store product in appropriate areas. Maintain an organized work area.
• Order Picking: Pull and prepare for shipment, ensuring correct quantity and type. Perform picking efficiently to meet customer service standards. Prepare freight for operations as required.
• Quality: Ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
• Delivery: Move product from staging/storage to production lines or docks. Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight.
• Inventory: Maintain records for tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area. Comply with SOPs, policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards. Participate in safety meetings.
• Equipment Operation: Load/unload/move/stack/stage product using forklift, clamp truck, drum attachments, or other equipment. Maintain equipment in a neat, clean condition and perform minor daily maintenance. Maintain active forklift certification.
• Maintenance: Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
• Other Duties (Site Specific): Change fuel tanks, participate in inventories, label/sort/pack/repack as needed; repair pallets; maintain a clean facility; perform other duties; work overtime as required.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; 6 months experience in a logistics/distribution environment; able to operate MHE.
• Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures; ability to work year-round in varying conditions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions.
• Language: English (reading, writing, verbal).
• Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate ability to verify quantities and count inventory.
• Other: Strong attention to detail; ability to work with minimal supervision; adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience in warehouse/logistics/distribution.
• 1-2 years forklift experience.
• Current or prior MHE certification.

Physical Demands

Physical requirements vary by task; ability to lift/carry 21-50 pounds; reach above shoulder and perform related movements; walking and standing for extended periods.

Work Environment

Warehouse environment with occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level typically low to moderate.
