Responsibilities

The Forklift Operator is primarily responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and transferring items from delivery trucks to the appropriate storage area. This includes data entry into the tracking system and adherence to FIFO. Operators also ensure the Production Departments are efficiently supplied with dry materials by operating the forklift to stage items for pickup and delivery as requested.

Accountabilities / Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with forklift operation in an inventory control / receiving role is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Skills

• Demonstrated computer skills and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, high-stress environment where multitasking is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a factory-issued lift truck operator’s license.
