Deep South Equipment has positions available for skilled forklift/heavy equipment technicians with mechanical aptitude and industry experience in Shreveport, Louisiana. Prior forklift, heavy equipment, or automotive background is preferred. Deep South Equipment is a factory-recognized Dealer of Distinction by Hyster -Yale Lift Truck Company.

Requirements include at least 2 years of hands-on experience with forklifts, heavy machinery, automotive, or related industrial equipment. Electrical experience is a plus. A technical degree is preferred but not required.

Summary: Diagnose and repair forklifts and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.

• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, hydraulic components, electrical systems, and more.

• Perform tasks accurately and efficiently.

• Communicate courteously with customers and co-workers.

• Complete work orders, parts lists, and time cards accurately and promptly.

• Provide your own tools; large or specialty tools provided by the company.

• Maintain safety standards and observe all safety laws and policies.

• Overtime may be required.
