Job Description
Seeking reliable qualified candidates for the Security Officer position. Third shift 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally with the general public are essential, along with providing basic security operations for the facility. A complete background check is required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Control access to the facility during and after business hours to prevent unauthorized entry.
  2. Maintain security and safety for assigned areas.
  3. Enforce procedural rules and regulations and provide explanations as required.
  4. Operate and monitor CCTV systems for area and visitor surveillance.
  5. Monitor the facility for fire and safety hazards and report to proper authorities as required.
  6. Patrol assigned areas including buildings, grounds, and parking to ensure security and prevent damage or loss of company and employee property.
  7. Check and respond to reports of suspicious occurrences.
  8. Ensure the personal safety of staff, visitors, and property.
  9. Open and close the facility, ensuring that users have left the premises.
  10. Report security and general maintenance problems to proper authorities.
  11. Maintain logs and document all events during a shift, and may use a computer terminal to input and retrieve data.
  12. Maintain a working knowledge of the locations of various departments, buildings, access routes, and admitting requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Two years of related work experience in security, law enforcement, or military police and a high school diploma; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  2. DCJS certified.
  3. Valid driver's license and DMV record with no pending misdemeanor or felony charges or convictions.
  4. Professional appearance and attitude.
  5. Ability to interact well with people.
  6. Strong commitment to customer service.
  7. Ability to operate a Windows-based computer system.
  8. A complete background check is required.
