Overview

Internal Safety

• Respond to requests for unlocks and securing of doors; provide escorts and pickup of deposits to the hospital morgue; act as a backup to armed security officers; escort for various situations that do not require a secure condition (e.g., money, high-risk items/persons); assist dispatcher to increase security and safety precautions; and perform other duties as assigned.

External Safety

• Respond to requests for vehicle escorts to patients, visitors, and staff; display safety postings on the helipad in accordance with helipad policy; provide a backup to contract security officers; assist dispatcher to increase security and safety precautions; perform building checks; monitor parking; manage locking and unlocking of buildings and areas outside the main hospital facility; and perform other duties as assigned.

Dispatcher

• Perform dispatching and monitoring of building security systems; support hospital security operations with office administrative duties; receive security-related information by telephone, radio, and other sources; contact and dispatch security personnel to campus areas; contact emergency responders/police agencies when needed; answer and direct calls for security and emergency maintenance and internal lateral service as appropriate; provide information to patients, staff, visitors, and outside agencies regarding security and safety; perform a variety of office administrative duties; and perform related work as assigned.

What You Will Need

Desire individuals who have experience interacting with the public, providing information and directives to ensure safety for visitors, patients, and employees. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, and work independently. Prior security experience is desirable but not required. Valid Driver's License is required.
