Reports to: Deli Manager

Are you passionate about food service and enjoy providing customers (we call them guests!) with delicious meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? We are seeking a Night Lead to join our kitchen team in our retail grocery store environment, where you'll play a crucial role in food preparation, cooking, and guest service.

As a Deli Night Lead, you will inspire and lead a dedicated team to provide outstanding guest service and support daily deli operations. You’ll manage product quality, oversee inventory, and ensure a clean and welcoming department for guests. You’ll also mentor and train associates while contributing to the overall success of the deli department.

Job Description

What You’ll Do: As a Deli Night Lead at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Leadership and Training: Lead and coach evening deli associates, ensuring consistent excellent service and adherence to company expectations. Partner with the Deli Assistant Department Manager to manage daily operations.
  • Ensure Quality Control: Oversee the quality and freshness of deli products, monitor self-service and service cases, manage the hot bar and salad bar, and maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Provide Guest Service: Address guest concerns, resolve issues, and fulfill requests, including special orders for early morning shifts.
  • Assist with Operational Tasks: Manage inventory, pricing, and merchandising to meet sales and profitability goals, ensuring tasks are completed per standards.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Food Safety: Ensure department cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with food safety protocols, including logging and storage monitoring.
  • Honor Commitments: Maintain regular, timely attendance and provide adequate notice for absences.
  • Support the Team: Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate, lead, and train a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Guest Service Focus: Effective interaction with guests, addressing concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication for coaching and reporting.
  • Operational Knowledge: Understanding of deli operations, inventory management, and merchandising.
  • Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to apply safety training.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, pushing carts of up to 200 pounds, standing most of the shift, and working in temperature extremes like coolers and freezers.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with shifts that vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
