Overview

Watson Bowman Acme, a Sika company, is a manufacturer and supplier of expansion joint solutions for the transportation sector, including bridge and highway fabrication, preservation, and tunnels. This night shift position has 4-10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday, typically from 5:30pm to 4:00am. This role assists Welding Fitters, Master Fitters, Forepersons, and Manufacturing Supervision in the manufacture and assembly of metallic products supplied to the construction industry.

Salary Range: $23 - $26 per hour based on education, experience, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Welding Fitters, Master Fitters, Forepersons, and Manufacturing Supervision in the manufacture and assembly of metallic products for the construction industry.
  • Assist in fitting sub-assemblies as instructed, including but not limited to tie downs, straightening, grinding, and stud welding on strip seal steel rails, using hand tools, overhead cranes, and welding equipment.
  • Support adherence to safety and quality standards in all tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency required; additional coursework with emphasis on welding preferred.
  • Related experience in welding and assembly of expansion joint systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings and other written instructions.
  • Experience with hand tools, welding, fixturing, and hydraulic equipment to join components into sub-assemblies and assemble into finished engineer-to-order products.
  • Compliance with safety regulations, Safe Work Permits, training requirements, and use of safety equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift and manage material up to 50 pounds unassisted; stand or walk for long periods; bend, stoop, or kneel as required; wear all required PPE.
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
