Job Description In this role, the MSL is the field-based medical representative of Pulmonary Hypertension, J&J Innovative Medicine. The primary function is to support education, research, information dissemination, and scientific intelligence activities. The MSL is the clinical and scientific expert on Pulmonary Hypertension, current and future products. The MSL provides fair, balanced, objective, scientific information and education to health care providers (HCPs) and internal partners as required by scientific and business needs. All activities are conducted in accordance with current regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Build external relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and maintain continuous scientific exchange as appropriate
Provide proficient and reliable scientific data to HCPs about Pulmonary Hypertension, disease state education, and J&J Innovative Medicine products
Interact with healthcare providers interested in J&J Innovative Medicine–sponsored clinical trials
Partner with Clinical Research to identify sites for sponsored trials, perform high-level feasibility assessments, and relay information to the corporate office
Facilitate clear communication between PH, J&J Innovative Medicine and investigators involved in investigator-initiated studies
Develop training materials for internal partners on products, development programs, therapeutic areas, and medical developments
Demonstrate business insight by aligning activities to medical strategy and driving results
Document field-based activity, project updates, and insights from interactions with HCPs or scientific meetings
Collaborate with cross-functional partners within the territory to provide field-medical support
Develop understanding of local, regional, and national HCPs and their healthcare environments
Communicate scientific and medical information effectively
Strong business insight and ability to work in a team environment
Qualifications
Education: Advanced terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, DO, MD, DNP) or other advanced medical degree (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner)
Experience and Skills: Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within and outside the US; up to 70% travel; comfort with technology and remote tools; relocation not offered
Preferred
1–2 years of MSL experience or 2–3 years relevant experience in clinical, research, fellowship, or pharmaceutical work
Knowledge or experience in pulmonary/cardiology/PH or rare diseases
Experience working in the Atlanta territory is strongly preferred
