Overview

Outdoor Cap and JUNK Brands is a dedicated organization with a passion for all things headwear. We are seeking skilled individuals to join our team and contribute to the creation of our premium products. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of our products, operating and maintaining equipment such as measuring tools, heat guns, embroidery and sewing tools, and sewing machines. The role requires following detailed instructions and contributing to a positive, productive work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Must follow all safety protocols
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks and safety checks
• Interpret work orders with attention to detail to ensure high-quality, accurate production
• Use proper tools for each task to maintain safe conditions and product quality; report items that need replacement
• Contribute to quality control by inspecting materials and finished products; interpret SOPs and determine pass/fail, rework, or scrap decisions
• Prepare and organize for production, ensuring order requirements are met
• Inspect and prepare finished products for shipping (QC, trim, packaging)
• Able to demonstrate competencies for various machinery/techniques for progression
• Understand and communicate PASS vs. FAIL criteria (e.g., loose threads, crooked art, bad caps)
• Read purchase orders to match art, cap style, color, size, and packing instructions
• Adhere to safety protocols for assigned equipment and production areas

Education and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory
• Embroidery, sewing and/or digitizing experience desired, but not mandatory
• Very basic computer knowledge; familiar with in-house programs (example: Exenta, Quickturn, NetSuite, Shopify)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for 90% of the day; occasional reaching, bending, and movement
• Fine motor skills for wrists, hands, and fingers
• Close visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
• Able to hear and communicate effectively with peers
• Ability to lift/move/pull 10–50 lbs occasionally
• Moderate noise from sewing machine operation in a warehouse
• Extreme temperatures in areas with limited climate control

Grades and Progression

Grade 1 Production Support: QC/Trim, Blocking; progression through steps and potential advancement to Grade 2 Machine Operator.

Grade 2 – Machine Operator (Embroidery): Operate embroidery machines; progression through steps to higher levels; cross-training opportunities in various duties.

Grade 4 – Production Assistant: Provide essential support to the domestic decoration team; responsibilities include materials handling, organization, and coordinating production activities; potential progression through steps and to supervisory roles.
