Position Summary

As the Production Supervisor, you play a vital role in ensuring employee safety, maintaining product quality, and optimizing asset performance, all while adhering to the production schedule. This role requires exceptional leadership, including active participation in hiring, onboarding new employees, managing performance, and implementing corrective actions. You will champion continuous improvement initiatives across the plant and collaborate proactively with other teams on-site and within the broader division to align your area with the organization. As a role model, you will lead by example to cultivate a workplace culture that inspires and motivates associates at all levels. Your commitment to achieving results will be measured by key performance metrics.

Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday/10:00pm - 6:30am (flexibility to work weekends when required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely implementation of the people development plan and verify team competencies in accordance with the plan with the Project Manager, including training on equipment operation, safety procedures, and hygiene practices.
  • Enforce compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) among all team members.
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times. Ensure updated work instructions are available for all positions and that processes are carried out in accordance with SOPs, SSOPs, and other relevant documentation.
  • Communicate and execute activities with environmental impact in accordance with environmental management protocols.
  • Ensure the achievement of quality objectives, including adherence to GMPs, sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality inspections as per company policies.
  • Actively participate in preventing and correcting quality-related errors.
  • Monitor and enforce personnel hygiene and safety practices, such as uniforms, changing shoes, and handwashing.
  • Continuously coach employees to meet and exceed job requirements using the NCE approach.
  • Review daily target achievements and report deviations during on-the-floor and review meetings.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate smooth handoffs and effectively communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
  • Ensure continuous line controls and take immediate corrective action to maintain prescribed quality standards and comply with manufacturing instructions, internal and external regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain effective employee and industrial relations management to ensure ongoing smooth factory operations.
  • Ensure adequate distribution of skills to achieve the production plan.
  • Ensure timely product launches in coordination with the business unit/area.
  • Coordinate with quality, engineering, and administration to ensure proper maintenance of facilities.
  • Review daily maintenance effectiveness with Maintenance Mechanics and team members to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and ensure timely completion of maintenance and repairs to maximize efficiency.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant manufacturing or production work experience (including military service) preferred in lieu of a degree.
  • 1-3 years of prior production supervisory experience is required.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices) is required. Preferred experience in the food and beverage, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical industries, with a strong understanding of strict GMP guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment through effective housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with AS400, Oracle, Kronos, or SAP is strongly preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and listening abilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong aptitude for building personal relationships based on trust, mutual respect, and open communication.
  • Adaptability to varied task requirements, alignment with others\' styles, and the ability to shift priorities and take on new responsibilities quickly.
  • Proven ability to tailor communication styles to different audiences and facilitate group coaching sessions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and the ability to mentor and motivate others.
  • Ability to identify development needs and provide support to foster growth.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills.
  • Capacity to set effective and challenging objectives.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; root cause problem-solving is a plus.
  • High energy level and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 15-20 lb boxes repeatedly and stand for extended periods.

Compensation & Benefits

The approximate pay range for this position is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00. This range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
