Position Summary: As the Production Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring employee safety, maintaining product quality, and optimizing asset performance, all while adhering to the production schedule. This role requires strong leadership, involvement in hiring and onboarding, managing performance, and implementing corrective actions. You will champion continuous improvement initiatives across the plant and collaborate with teams on- site and within the division to ensure alignment with the organization. You will lead by example to foster a motivating workplace culture and be evaluated by key performance metrics.
Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday / 10:00pm - 6:30am (flexibility to work weekends when required).
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely implementation of the people development plan and verify team competencies according to the plan with the Project Manager, including training on equipment operation, safety procedures, and hygiene practices.
- Enforce compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) among all team members.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure updated work instructions are available for all positions; carry out processes according to SOPs, SSOPs, and other documentation.
- Implement activities with environmental impact in accordance with environmental management protocols.
- Achieve quality objectives by adhering to GMPs, conducting sanitation audits, performing food safety checks, and conducting product quality inspections per company policies.
- Prevent and correct quality-related errors; monitor and enforce hygiene and safety practices (uniforms, protective clothing, handwashing).
- Coach employees to meet/exceed job requirements using the NCE approach.
- Review daily target achievements and report deviations during on-the-floor and review meetings.
- Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement.
- Facilitate smooth handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
- Maintain line controls and take corrective action to meet quality standards and comply with regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Maintain effective employee and industrial-relations management to ensure smooth factory operations.
- Ensure adequate skill distribution to achieve the production plan and coordinate timely product launches with the business unit/area.
- Coordinate with quality, engineering, and administration to ensure proper maintenance of facilities; review daily maintenance effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prioritize, schedule, and complete maintenance and repairs to maximize efficiency.
Experience & Education Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; minimum 3 years of relevant manufacturing/production experience preferred in lieu of a degree.
- 1-3 years of prior production supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of cGMPs required; preferred experience in food & beverage, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical industries with strong GMP understanding.
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment through effective housekeeping and safety practices.
- Familiarity with AS400, Oracle, Kronos, or SAP preferred.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening). Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills; ability to tailor communication to different audiences and mentor employees.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills; high energy and follow-up skills.
- Physical Demands: must be able to lift 15-20 lb boxes repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
Compensation & Benefits
The approximate pay range is $80,000 to $100,000 annually. This is a good faith estimate at posting; final compensation may vary by knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
