We are seeking an experienced Production Control and Inventory Planner to join the Robotics Manufacturing & Technical Operations (RMTO) team at Amazon Robotics.
Responsibilities
- Engineer end-to-end material flows from supplier receipt to line-side delivery
- Establish visual management systems and standard operating procedures to align production floor processes with the PFEP
- Create finite capacity production schedules considering equipment, labor, and material constraints
- Optimize sequences to minimize changeovers and maximize throughput
- Monitor job flow through production and ensure on-time completion
- Implement inventory controls and cycle count programs to ensure accuracy
- Investigate discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Partner with engineering on configuration management, including BOM maintenance and assignment
- Analyze inventory data to improve turns, reduce waste, and prevent stockouts
- Act as primary contact for schedule execution and build status
- Develop and standardize area supermarket replenishment plans to prevent overstocking and shortages
- Coordinate with shipping/receiving to ensure materials readiness
- Partner with engineering on routings and resource planning
- Create standard operating procedures on defined work paths
- Provide analytical reports and actionable insights to leadership
- Communicate production issues proactively to cross-functional teams
- Update production spreadsheets to clearly communicate the status of each job/work order and its can-build/factory clear-to-build status
A day in the life
- This role is a 2nd shift position. Working hours are 2:30pm to 11:30pm.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP S4/HANA and Oracle EBS)
- Excellent problem-solving and process improvement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Proficient in supply chain management tools and technologies
- Experience with SQL
- Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
