Amazon Robotics is located in the greater Boston area, the epicenter of robotics innovation. Our diverse team of engineers designs, tests and builds a dynamic fleet of robots and mechatronic systems. Current advancements include autonomous movement and mobility, artificial intelligence and machine learning, manipulation, simulation, robotic management software, predictive analytics, and more. We are seeking an experienced Production Control and Inventory Planner to join the Robotics Manufacturing & Technical Operations (RMTO) team to drive end-to-end production control and inventory planning excellence through strategic implementation of advanced planning processes and inventory management systems.
You will orchestrate the flow of materials from supplier receipt to line-side delivery, optimize production schedules, and ensure inventory accuracy across assigned programs. As a subject matter expert, you will partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, procurement, and quality teams to streamline processes, eliminate manual tasks, and enhance planning capabilities to improve customer service, reduce costs, and optimize working capital.
Responsibilities
- Engineer end-to-end material flows from supplier receipt to line-side delivery
- Establish visual management systems and standard operating procedures to align production floor processes with the PFEP
- Create finite capacity production schedules considering equipment, labor, and material constraints
- Optimize sequences to minimize changeovers and maximize throughput
- Monitor job flow through production and ensure on-time completion
- Implement inventory controls and cycle count programs to ensure accuracy
- Investigate discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Partner with engineering on configuration management, including BOM maintenance and assignment
- Analyze inventory data to improve turns, reduce waste, and prevent stockouts
- Act as primary contact for schedule execution and build status
- Develop and standardize area supermarket replenishment plans to prevent overstocking and shortages
- Coordinate with shipping/receiving to ensure materials readiness
- Partner with engineering on routings and resource planning
- Create standard operating procedures on defined work paths
- Provide analytical reports and actionable insights to leadership
- Communicate production issues proactively to cross-functional teams
- Update production spreadsheets to clearly communicate the status of each job/work order and its can-build/factory clear-to-build status
- Develop and standardize area supermarket replenishment plans to prevent overstocking and shortages
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP S4/HANA and Oracle EBS)
- Excellent problem-solving and process improvement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Proficient in supply chain management tools and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL
- Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
Location, Hours and Notable Details
This role is a 2nd shift position. Working hours are 2:30pm to 11:30pm.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
