Job Description
The Communications Manager is a specialist level professional position that supports the organization through a primary focus on increasing employee engagement and awareness of organizational goals, values, and promoting productivity. As a senior-level member of the Communications Team, this position also communicates an extensive range of messages and relies on demonstrated creative ability to solve diverse communications problems. This role will be involved in influencing, modifying, or executing policies which will have department-wide or organization-wide implications. This role partners with business leaders to develop and implement programs and solutions to improve processes, reduce costs and/or cycle time, and improve customer service.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.
Responsibilities
Applies comprehensive knowledge and experience in communication strategy, planning, and execution Develops integrated communications plans that support business and content strategies, as well as client project needs Works on complex problems where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors and oversees the development of creative solutions within area of expertise Manages relationships and expectations with internal stakeholders for content creation and implementation Develops and reports on analytics to make recommendations for improvements Exercises judgement within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for results Works creatively and collaboratively in supervising the defining, producing, editing, and distributing content to strengthen organizational identity and messaging Event management and planning, including coordinating and curating presentations content and collateral, space and environmental planning, and project management Develop and deliver training and coaching, as needed Qualifications
Required:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent professional experience Work Experience:
6+ years of experience in communications or a related field Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:
High-level comprehensive communications planning, brand management, and project management skills and abilities Strong track record of successful interpersonal communication, leadership skills and customer-service ethic Demonstrated creativity, organizational ability, and strong attention to detail Demonstrated professionalism, including the ability to express oneself clearly in interactions with others in verbal and written communications, both one-on-one and with a group Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively in a larger multidisciplinary team Proven track record of problem-solving, taking initiative to set priorities, and handling multiple projects efficiently and effectively Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, objectives, and obligations while representing the mission, visions, and values of the organization Expert in communication development tools and industry-standard technologies Flexible and adaptable to change Expert-level writing, editing, research, and proofreading skills This job operates in a professional office environment To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment
