Responsibilities
- Safely collect blood samples via venipuncture, and heel-stick (pediatrics) following set guidelines and policies in carrying out daily phlebotomy functions
- Verify patient identification and accurately label blood samples with patient information and test orders
- Responsible for quality of blood samples after collection
- Assure safety and comfort of patient by following established phlebotomy techniques and standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff, and other lab/hospital personnel as needed to accomplish assigned task
- Adhere to Customer Service Excellence by treating all patients with dignity.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Passed an accreditated course including clinical experience or have a minimum of 2-3 years of continuous phlebotomy experience
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred
