Responsibilities

• Safely collect blood samples via venipuncture, and heel-stick (pediatrics) following set guidelines and policies in carrying out daily phlebotomy functions
• Verify patient identification and accurately label blood samples with patient information and test orders
• Responsible for quality of blood samples after collection
• Assure safety and comfort of patient by following established phlebotomy techniques and standards
• Collaborate with nursing staff, and other lab/hospital personnel as needed to accomplish assigned task
• Adhere to Customer Service Excellence by treating all patients with dignity.

Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED
• Passed an accreditated course including clinical experience or have a minimum of 2-3 years of continuous phlebotomy experience
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred
