Phlebotomist

Our ideal phlebotomist is patient, reliable, and really commits to keep our donors comfortable and happy.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
• You establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
• You respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
• Monitors donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
• Sets up, disconnects, and operates the automated plasmapheresis machines.
• Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Occupational Demands

Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms. PPE is required. Work involves standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, with bending and twisting; frequent hand and finger movements; walking up to 6-8 hours per day; and light lifting up to 50 lbs. Sight and hearing requirements apply. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and to relate sensitive information to diverse groups.

Color perception and near/far vision may be corrected to acceptable levels. Must be able to listen to and understand information presented verbally or in writing and perform tasks accordingly.
