About Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar:
We specialize in manufacturing structural parts for leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the large business and regional jet sectors. Our capabilities include producing complex parts for various aircraft segments, ensuring high quality and cost-effective production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Uphold industry quality standards (AS9100) to ensure excellence in all operations.
Implement cost reduction strategies to benefit the company.
Manage supplier/vendor relationships in accordance with approval guidelines set by management and customers.
Collaborate with departments such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Planning to fulfill their purchasing needs.
Issue purchase orders for contracted production materials and services, adhering to established pricing and lead times.
Procure non-contracted miscellaneous items as needed.
Ensure that all purchasing documents are accurate and fully reflect requirements.
Track and maintain purchase orders, providing status updates as necessary.
Identify risks associated with suppliers and communicate these to Supplier Development buyers.
Expedite late deliveries with management consent and resolve purchasing-related issues.
Assist in training and guiding less experienced colleagues in purchasing roles.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with requirements.
Effective communication skills for verbal and written interactions.
Customer-focused approach to prioritizing satisfaction and service.
Ability to collaborate with various teams while working independently.
Familiarity with company policies, safety guidelines, and a commitment to a drug-free workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Five years of purchasing or relevant technical experience.
Strong understanding of purchasing methods and techniques.
Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP/ERP) and good knowledge of software applications.
Familiarity with aerospace industry principles and practices.
Training or certification in Supply Chain Management (APICS) is a plus.
Lean and/or Six Sigma experience is advantageous.
