Overview

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients. The role involves drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for lab testing, while following established practices and procedures. The PSR I communicates with patients to explain procedures, demonstrates leadership behaviors, and focuses on process excellence with sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Shift/Time Zone: M-F 6am to 3:30pm; Rotating Saturdays 6:30am to 11:30am at Tamarac

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform with confidence in both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric populations.
  • Flexible schedule based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED. One or more years phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience is a must.

Additional Details

  • Must list home city/commute time to jobsite on resume; compensation is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume. Overlapping roles do not count twice. Refer to the Southeast rate card breakdown provided by Broadleaf for questions.
  • Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from the worksite. Being on time and staying for the full shift is required; excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated.
  • Verify commute time to/from the physical work location; candidates should be within a 20–25 minute commute window to ensure travelability to the site.
