Job Overview
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life‑defining health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. The PSR I will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience
- Minimum of 6 months experience (required). One (or more) year phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
Additional Job Details
- Must list home city/commute time to job site on resume.
- Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from worksite.
- Must be available to work whenever scheduled, be on time, and stay for the entire shift.
- Excessive absenteeism/tardiness will result in termination.
- Candidates must be within a 20–25 min commute window to the site.
Location & Work Hours
- Site: Pembroke Rd, Pembroke Pines, FL (GL Business Unit/Site Code: 39500‑FPP:QUEST‑12237).
- Shift: M‑F 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; rotational Saturdays 6:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
- Employment type: Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level, Diagnosis Information Service.
