Temporary National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Bilingual Spanish/English) – Queens

Position Summary: Joining our Laboratory Services Department at Plaza Del Sol Health Center, the Temporary Phlebotomist (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) will provide bilingual Spanish/English diagnostic evaluations and treatments. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Nationally Certified Phlebotomy Technician, required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English, required.
  • High School Diploma, required.
  • 0-1 year of related phlebotomy experience highly preferred.
  • Understanding of safety rules and regulations.
  • Flexible work schedule required.

Key Duties

  • Performs laboratory tests as ordered by provider.
  • Draws blood, collects specimens, and transmits orders.
  • Prepares specimens for pickup, in accordance with National Patient Safety guidelines.
  • Utilizes appropriate needle precautions.
  • Ensures appropriate OSHA standards.

Starting Compensation

Minimum $21.00 per hour; Maximum $21.00 per hour.

Work Environment, Location, and Schedule

Position will be based out of our Corona, Queens Family Health Center, Plaza Del Sol. This position will require flexibility to train in our Bronx based flagship Family Health Center, El Nuevo San Juan, at the beginning of employment with a schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Once training is completed, the departmental schedule will commence and be Tuesday-Thursday 7am-4:30pm and every Saturday 7am-1:30pm. The duration of the temporary assignment will be 3 to 6 months.
