This is a detail-oriented position that supports independence and meaningful impact in higher education while working in one of Alaska’s most stunning natural settings.

About The Position

The Administrative Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for the Anderson Building and provides comprehensive administrative support to faculty, staff, and students. This full-time position coordinates course scheduling for the School of Arts & Sciences, manages general office operations, and develops website content. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments while managing multiple projects in a dynamic academic environment serving Southeast Alaska communities.

Key responsibilities include managing multiple priorities with attention to detail, providing administrative support requiring independent judgment and problem-solving, and utilizing Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Web publishing experience and content management skills are valued but not required. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team is essential.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma and three (3) years of progressively responsible office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, are required.

Position Details

This position is located on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau. It is a full-time, non-exempt staff role with a competitive salary and full benefits package. The UA compensation package includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision coverage. New hires are placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
